What information do we collect about you?

Any personal data we collect about you when you register with us or place an order for products or services are treated with the utmost respect and our staff are trained to observe General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). We also collect information when you voluntarily participate in competitions.

It may also be necessary, where the latest technology allows us to do so, to use your information and health data to facilitate digital consultations and diagnoses and we will always do this with your security in mind.

How will we use the information about you?

We will only collect personal data with your full consent and only process any information that is deemed necessary for the purpose of which it has been collected, including collecting information to process any orders.

Sheinman Opticians have a duty of care to ensure that you continue to receive excellent healthcare. We will send you non-marketing material such as appointment reminders either by post or email. Our recall is managed on behalf of Sheinman Opticians by UKMail as a data processor and all personal data supplied by us (Data controller) will be deleted securely from their systems after 90 days.

Sheinman Opticians uses TrustPilot as a data processor who assist with sending out review invitations and collecting feedback. Any personal data that TrustPilot hold is securely deleted after 90 days.

How do we share it with others?

There is no minimum age limit on when a child can have their eyes examined. We frequently see babies, toddlers, children and teenagers of all ages.

Children do not need to be able to read or identify letters for us to examine their eyes.

We strongly encourage all children and young people to have their eyes tested regularly, usually every year.

Eye examinations for children is free if they are under 16.

Teenagers under the age of 19 are entitled to a free eye examination if they are in full time education.

We want to make sure that all information held about you is accurate, it would be helpful if you could advise us of any such changes in the future (e.g. new address) to ensure your records are up to date.

You may ask us to correct or remove information if you think it is inaccurate.

Any information held on our database should not be held or processed for longer than is deemed necessary. You can request that your details be deleted from our database at any time in writing however we do have a legal obligation to maintain your records for ten years after the conclusion of treatment.
